Greater Things Week 3
Pastor Sam delivered a message on the strategic blueprint Jesus used to spread the gospel, focusing on how the early church movement was carefully planned rather than accidental. He examined Paul's ministry strategy, particularly the School of Tyrannus in Acts 19, where Paul left the synagogue after three months of resistance and established a training center in Tyrannus's building. For two years, Paul trained disciples who then evangelized the entire province of Asia. The pastor emphasized that Christians are citizens of heaven serving as ambassadors on earth, called to submit to Christ's authority by following the Great Commandment (love God and others) and the Great Commission (make disciples). He challenged the congregation to move beyond passive church attendance to active discipleship and mission.
The sermon concluded with Pastor Sam sharing his church's strategic plan for developing disciples from early childhood through adulthood, creating a cycle where each generation is equipped to make disciples of the next. He revealed that 17 men are currently in pastoral training across their four campuses, demonstrating the fruit of this discipleship strategy. The ultimate goal is to create a 'School of Tyrannus' - a place focused not just on gathering people but on training and sending out equipped disciples to impact their communities and beyond.
