Steve & Elizabeth Gilroy - Face of Justice Ministries
14 years ago Steve and Elizabeth Gilroy were a homeschool family living a quiet life in Alaska. In March of 2009 they heard the Lord calling them to missions. By May they knew it was to be Costa Rica. By October they had sold all of their earthly possession and on January 1st of the next year they boarded a plane to Central American along with their three young daughters. The rest is HIStory!

FOJ is a thriving ministry that focuses its efforts on helping victims of human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. Presently they operate Costa Rica's only two safe houses for teenage girls rescued out of sex slavery (The Freedom House and The Hovde-Maestro Cares House). These homes provide 24/7 care for up to 40 girls, all of who have suffered severe trauma. But praise the Lord He has the victory and many of these girls become transformed through the Christ-based approach to FOJ's efforts and the tender hand of our compassionate God Almighty.

Added to this FOJ operates The Grace House, a permanent home for the girls when they turn 18 and begin to to live their lives as independent young women. Here they continue their high school education, their therapies and have immediate employment as certified baristas through FOJ's mobile coffee cart business (AJAVA).

And finally FOJ operates The Hope House, a day center for prostituted women seeking a way out of this horrendous lifestyle. These women are the destitute of the destitute and FOJ provides skills training, small business development, Bible Studies, English classes and occasional medical care.
